A Kensington Society event:
Summer party at Leighton House
When: Thursday 24 August 2023, 6.30pm to 9.00pm
Where: Leighton House, 12 Holland Park Road
This year we are pleased to announce that we will, weather permitting, hold our summer party in the garden of Leighton House. Please do join us!
Sir Frederic Leighton, president of the Royal Academy from 1878 until his death in 1896, designed and built his house as a studio residence and as a showcase for his own works and those of his contemporaries. Recently re-opened after an £8 million restoration, Leighton House was one of five finalists for the prestigious Art Fund Museum of the Year prize for 2023.
Drinks will be served in Leighton House’s marvellous new café (part of the restoration) and guests can spill out into the lovely tranquil garden behind the house if the weather permits.
And for those who didn’t manage attend our sold-out visit to Leighton Huse after the restoration (on 9 November 2022), Daniel Robbins, the senior curator, will hold a special limited guided tour of the house.
Numbers are restricted and we are sure there will be a big demand for what promises to be a lovely evening, so do sign up early!
