Back on the agenda:

A guided walk around Notting Dale with Caroline MacMillan

Thursday 13 September 2018, 10:30am – 12:30pm

Meeting place: Outside Holland Park tube station

This walk was originally planned for 20 June 2017, but on 16 June we decided to postpone it, due to the dreadful Grenfell Tower fire, which had happened just two days earlier.

Local historian Caroline MacMillan takes us on a walk through Notting Dale; from James Weller Ladbroke’s residential masterpiece to the “Potteries”, where bricks were made for London’s growing suburbs, and the “Piggeries”, where once three times as many swine as humans lived.

The walk finishes with refreshments at The Mitre pub, which stands on the site of Notting Hill Farm, at the corner of Holland Park Avenue and Ladbroke Grove.

Beer, wine or soft drink at the pub is included in the price. Please state preferred choice of drink for each attendant when registering below.

It’s a two-hour walk with some gentle slopes, so it’s not suitable for those who can only walk short distances. Those who can should comfortable walking shoes.

The group is limited to 25 people, so sign up early.

Kensington Society members £20, non-members £25

Online bookings

Make your booking online, paying via PayPal with your credit or debit card. You do not need a PayPal account to do so.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to a glitch in our payment system, when you reach the page for payment options (after having entered the names and email addresses of those attending on the previous page),  you MUST press the PayPal button under “Method of Payment”, although PayPal is the only available option, BEFORE you press the “Proceed to Finalize Registration” button. If you don’t, you’ll get an error message. However, if that happens you should be able to proceed anyway by closing the error message (just click on the X in the upper right-hand corner of the message window) and then selecting the PayPal button before you once again press the “Proceed to Finalize Registration” button.

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
